The Sōzō Summit, SoftBank’s inaugural CEO and Investor conference and networking event, spanned the course of 3 days at The Langham Pasadena, an iconic landmark hotel. SoftBank asked for innovative ways to activate this luxury space with the goal of engaging attendees throughout the weekend in a thoughtful and meaningful way.
I brought in Emmy-award winning composer Lucas Cantor Santiago who had recently made headlines by finishing Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony using Artificial Intelligence.
For this assignment, Lucas harnessed the power of AI to integrate global data from SoftBank’s portfolio companies into an original composition: the SoftBank Sinfonia.
2019 Sōzō Summit attendees experienced Sinfonia as a multi-sensory musical performance unlike any other, as the music was performed live simultaneously in three separate locations at the Langham and conducted live by Lucas.
A recording of the full score in its entirety was commissioned and made available as a download for attendees.
